Starting a
Business in Greece.

Greece has made significant progress in improving its business environment for international entrepreneurs. Company formation is faster and simpler than it was a decade ago, and the government has introduced a range of incentives for foreign investment.

Company Formation

Setting Up in Greece

The most common business structures for foreign investors in Greece are the Private Company (IKE) and the Société Anonyme (AE). The IKE is the most popular for small and medium businesses — it can be formed with a minimum capital of €1 and the process can be completed in a few days through the General Commercial Registry (GEMI).

Greece has a network of Enterprise Europe Network offices and investment promotion agencies that provide support and guidance for international businesses.
